5 volt socket on a joystick control board...

I have a control board I can/could use with (like) custom arcade controls, but there are 3 ports along with the other wire ports that say 5V.
Can I use these to power something like LEDs or an LED strip? Or would I still need an outside power source to do that?
I know some(?) take 12 Volts...
The pic attached is an example, not the same as my board.
Essentially, I'm asking what could I use them for?

Again, not exactly the same set-up, but this is what I figured.
