He's a little fond of chiffon in a wrist array-yay-yay.
Off-topic, but it's kind of interesting to see Bozzio's early work with Zappa, UK, and Missing Persons, especially considering what he does nowadays. I've been a fan of his for 20+ years, proceeding his "rock" years.. and of course, I'm a *huge* Zappa fan...

Maybe it's just my knowledge of musical notation getting the better of me, but the wavy lines to me suggest cues for applying vibrato, as most real violinists do on sustained notes. Of course the violin controller here might not be accurate enough to provide that type of input, though actual vibrato, if any, might come from the XaviX sound registers.

Uncertain myself since my area is drums/percussion.

It will be interesting to find out what is the cause for the thing to eventually go off pitch and whatever else etc.
