Flyer Fever 2023-Oct: Year 9 Part 1
#397167 - 10/01/23 12:47 PM

In observation of Flyer Fever's 9th anniversary online, here is the first of two updates.

I recently obtained some obscure video game flyers from the Eighties, many of which I had never seen before until now.

Airwolf (1987) - Kyugo Trading Co.
Birdiy (1983) - Mama Top Corporation
Fighting Basketball (1984) - Paradise Electronics
Honey Bear (1983) - Eastern Micro Electronics
Twang (1983) - Eastern Micro Electronics
Yamato (1983) - Falcon International

Here are flyer variants for well known game titles that have different designs, backgrounds, distributor stamps or printed text.

Intrepid (1983) - Nova Games
Match Games (1982) - Merit Industries
Mikie High School Graffiti (1984) - Konami
Mouser (1983) - UPL/Cosmos

~ Enjoy

When we first ran across evidence of these games, we tagged them with "(1983?)" as a guessed date, but I don't remember what the rationale for that guess was.

Well, the flyers do say 1983 on them...so '82 or '83 seems pretty logical...

or am I missing something?

Pessimist: Oh, this can't get any worse!
Optimist: Yes, it can!

Wow, I'm just blind. After a closer look I see the dates on both flyers. Thanks for pointing that out. I honestly didn't see them the first time around.

Birdiy flyer question new [Re: Dan@Flyer Fever]

TAFA has this entry that you had contributed many years earlier.

Is that a flyer? Or was it a page scan from a magazine?

If that image, on TAFA, is an actual flyer, it is missing on Flyer Fever web site at this time.

Seems no more than 10 years ago gone by imo when various preservation projects got started and a lot of the guesses way back then in mid to late 1990s of coinop games whether they actually did exist or not. Most folks these days now can find some info of an obscure game and whether it is emulated, but there are still a few exceptions now and then.

I've personally only seen it as an ad in trade magazines. It's very possible that it exists as a stand alone flyer.

Okay. The page advertisement is of a quality itself that it probably originated from an actual flyer and was reused as a magazine page advertisement as well. Anyway a very way over the top excellent update for this year.
