OMG, that was painful to watch!!!
So many things wrong that it's amazing it worked at all.
The main thing is that the HanaHo interface is PS/2 ONLY but yet they felt compelled to connect it through a USB converter.
If they would have plugged the joystick straight to the PS/2 connector on the PC and the keyboard connected back on the PS/2 pass-through it probably would have worked just fine.
I converted my HanaHo HotRod joystick to an X-Arcade interface which is the correct way to convert to USB.

This is pretty much my homebrew cab.
Windows XP computer, 21 " CRT monitor in a homemade Gauntlet II cab cut out of Formica board, with arcade buttons Ultimarc controller, and a trackball. Many emulators installed....thousands of games available.
This setup has been going for 18 years strong.
