help migration INI from mameui to mame.ini to IV-Play

Hi All. I'm migrating to IV-Play from MameUI. In previous MameUI, no need to touch mame.ini, since all config was directly done in mameui.ini. Now, IV-Play uses mame.ini so I' stuck with that one. I downloaded mame64bit into l:\g\mame, and in there, I also unzipped ivplay. Then I moved my roms into the "roms" folder of mame. I have 3 separated roms directories - std - for "standard" games - b - for BIOS games - sw - for software games STD games run ok, in both, mame and iv-play (puckman, frogger). BIOS don't work. SW don't work. It reports "missing files". However, I do have the right config, I think:
L:\g\mame>findstr roms mame.ini rompath L:\g\mame\roms\b;L:\g\mame\roms\std;L:\g\mame\roms\sw
As You can see, all 3 directories are configured in the "rompath" variable.
Now, if I try to run MetalSlug, it says not available, but the neogeo folder and the mslug folder are both under the "sw" folder, so if I understand correctly the logic in the doc:
https://docs.mamedev.org/usingmame/assetsearch.html#system-roms
It should work:
L:\g\mame>dir roms\sw\neogeo\mslug* Volume in drive L is LLAGOS WDE4T Volume Serial Number is 38F4-7659
Directory of L:\g\mame\roms\sw\neogeo
06/15/2019 02:59 PM 12,958,458 mslug.zip 06/15/2019 03:00 PM 17,215,264 mslug2.zip 10/25/2019 05:34 PM 61,159,610 mslug3.7z 10/02/2020 08:38 PM 2,358,869 mslug3a.7z 10/02/2020 08:39 PM 1,174,498 mslug3b6.7z 10/02/2020 08:39 PM 1,146,147 mslug3h.7z 10/25/2019 05:36 PM 47,365,941 mslug4.7z 10/02/2020 08:39 PM 2,538,927 mslug4h.7z 10/25/2019 05:34 PM 60,196,534 mslug5.7z 05/23/2020 07:46 PM 25,829,303 mslug5b.7z 10/02/2020 08:39 PM 1,620,610 mslug5h.7z 06/15/2019 03:01 PM 28,048,630 mslugx.zip 12 File(s) 261,612,791 bytes
Same thing for BIOS, like Naomi (not found):
L:\g\mame>dir roms\b\naomi* Volume in drive L is LLAGOS WDE4T Volume Serial Number is 38F4-7659
Directory of L:\g\mame\roms\b
12/21/2022 09:29 AM naomi 12/20/2022 07:14 PM naomi2 12/20/2022 07:13 PM naomigd 0 File(s) 0 bytes
I'd appreciate any hint.
Thanks a lot,

From your last DIR it doesn't look like there aren't any naomi files in your B directory, just empty directories for them oddly.
The BIOS files should be freestanding zips like the other ROMs. Are there any files in the B directory at all?
You should have three:
11/05/2022 08:56 AM 10,264,685 naomi.zip 05/14/2020 09:54 PM 6,975,914 naomi2.zip 11/16/2016 07:49 PM 3,350,082 naomigd.zip 3 File(s) 20,590,681 bytes
You can also run mame with the -verbose switch to see what it's looking for and missing, Capcom vs SNK here: 'mame.exe cvsgd -verbose'
You also don't need three directories, most folks keep it all in \roms unless you have a different use case.

Thanks John,
I separated them all because I kind of remember at some point way back, there was a duplicity of folder names, I remember for neogeo games, so there was a neogeo BIOS folder, and a neogeo SW folder. Later on one of them was renamed I think to neogeo_cd, or something, to fix this, but that's the reason. I understand that now, if I just put together under "roms" all my system\games structure, there shouldn't be any coincidence?
Thanks again,

I keep all my roms in \roms.
I put all my software list zips in their own appropriate directories like: \software\a2600\pacman.zip \software\aes\samshow.zip, etc.
My rompath is roms;software.
You can use clrmame to clean things up if you need to.
Neogeo arcade games can exist in the \roms directory, the AES NeoGeo home games would go in \software\aes directory.
