Andrew, anjera, jop, Mr. Do, secret agent man, PokeMAME and Orc and eldio whenever they drop by and also Smit. I miss arguing with Faz of his Boston teams and also twisty with his NHL M’Leafs team.

Three hours left. I feel like I should be doing something more fun than browsing the mameworld board. I'm turning into a real fuddy duddy these days. Ah well, catch you all on the other side!

A story of one man and his obsession with the female anatomy.
Drop by in case MazeMan ever gets found. Hard to say if that will ever happen, but there have been a couple surprises over past couple years.
iirc Smit didn’t post here when MarbleMadness 2 was added last year by Haze. I am envisioning some crazy entertaining post by him when that was added last year since that was on his most wanted list over the years.
I am crossing fingers Couriersud will drop in later with another non-cpu emulation update.
off topic:
I didn’t expect Phoenix Suns to have their top 3 points scorers to be injured for next 3 months. The season is over for them even if the team trades Jae Crowder. The 2021 NBA finals appearance seems a distant memory and the team should have still kept Frank instead of trading him to Indiana for Torrey Craig last season.
> I’m always gone half the year. Is he still with us?
Orc might drop in and post once or twice on rare occasions. If Roc and cutebutwrong were still posting here, Orc might post a bit more by calling cute a ‘creamy poofta’ before departing again.
The reason the plane explosion film reel scenes look newer is because they weren’t as much exposed over the many years to the projector lights as much compared with airplane half of the film reel.
btw: blame Fazeo for asking about this game in fall 2001 and I knew what Fazeo was asking about, but it started things rolling for all the Nintendo projection screen stuff over these many years. ‘I Blame Faz’
The thread from last year along with a description of how it works.
The reason why the horizontal split screen in the film reel capture, is the film reel output consisted of a top part and a bottom part of the film reel. When a plane is considered as being hit, an internal device, mirror iirc, would reflect the explosion scene ( bottom part of film reel ) on to the project screen. The white circle is the tracking hit box sensor from player’s gun so when plane target intersects, the film screen output of plane explosion is then projected on to the projection screen instead of the airplane target.
Impressive design concept for its time because it meant not having to rely on extra film reels nor projection unit players which WG required. The Nintendo Battleshark film reel game also uses the same design concept as Sky Hawk. The gameplay difference is war ships are the targets while player is flying an airplane. I never saw Nintendo Battleshark in person, but there is a place in the UK that is or was running Battleshark at a location.

Galloping Ghost struggles to keep up at times, but they are good dudes. Same as Star Worlds, people who just have a passion.
Drop me a line if you ever get out this way again. Same goes to all of you in this thread. Trying to be more present now.
Nuts. And I was guessing maybe Faz is lurking on occasion. Oh well. The Sky hawk gameplay clip can be viewed if he ever drops by later.
If there were posts about either unencrypted version of Sega Rafflesia ( reaflesiau rom set) being added or Atari MM2 being supported, I would have been skeptical of those first compared with ‘Fazeo still lurks here’ statements.
> I'm not familiar with mazeman or baracuda, had to google it. The graphics seem interesting.
Same here.
>Didn't know SirScotty was still around. I think he predates even me on the pac stuff, seems like he did a crazy >otto hack like 20 years ago.
I sent a message his way because I was curious of his opinion if the Mattel led games audio such as Baseball or Football seem accurate. His favorite was Mattel Baseball while mine was Football. I am sure the sounds are correct, but I currently don’t have a decent working computer to be able to run recent releases of MAME to try those games out. Getting a better computer is on my list.
> Wait! In my google search it looks like we know what the Crazy Otto crc's are? Hmmm.
iirc when there was a discussion on the MW forums long ago about this, it was only the actual game would be supported in MAME was from original source only. Anything else would be unacceptable. Something similar to the old Raflesiau rom set issue. No phony CRC stuff.
Thankfully the old Raflesiau issue was eventually resolved / fixed in 2021.

>> total brainfart here, and you've likely answered this in the past few years >> already.... but, is killerclown still around?
> Not heard from him in maybe 8 years. He was on socials but then took himself off.
He and Pi would have been impressed that many of the coinop games they had played over the years in Spain have been emulated within last 8 years such as the specific notorious mcu hardware protected Gaelco games that were finally able to be emulated thanks to Morten’s work.
I forget about elgo (elgondolero). The way he and Fazeo poked fun at each other had some entertaining moments.
