Vector Beam Width

I am running a fresh install of Mame .245 and am playing Lunar Lander (llander). My mame.ini contains:
beam_width_min 1.0 beam_width_max 1.0
I searched for any files with lander so there should not be a config file overriding mame.ini.
When I run llander the beam is too wide. Looking in slider controls Beam Width Maximum is 4.0. If I lower it to 1.0 it is fine. Exiting does not save the change from 4.0 to 1.0. I am stumped, what step should I take to make beam width maximum 1.0? Thanks for the help.

You can always create a llander.ini and put the beam settings in there, and save it into the INI folder. That way you can make sure that it's not being over written by any other ini files

Great suggestion, I took mame.ini saved it in the /ini directory and renamed it llander.ini. What is a bit of a head scratcher is why the beam settings are ignored in mame.ini but used when they are in llander.ini. Same file, different name.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, it is now working.

Thank you! Can’t believe I missed this, I never realized there were .ini files dedicated to categories and monitor types. Learn something new every day… very cool.
