Clrmamepro 4.044d released
#394201 - 06/05/22 04:24 AM

Changes:

4.044d (2022-06-01)
fixed: wrong bios set assignments for clones which don't use the bios roms themselves (pwrshovla, v4frfact*)
fixed: not showing files as unneeded which became empty sets over time (e.g. microvsn, mach64, msm6222b, o2_voice)

Get it at:

https://mamedev.emulab.it/clrmamepro/

Thanks Roman!

Having just run clrmamepro 4.044d against a verified ROM set, I was surprised to see a number of errors in the scan results. First, there were a number of "misplaced romset" errors for the following romsets:

arb
famicom
genesis
nes
sc3000
sg1000

and below that, the same sets are listed with "missing set" errors.

If I look in my MAME/roms directory, every single set is there.

Is this a bug? Or am I doing something wrong? No other romset is flagged.... This same romset scanned cleanly with clrmamepro 4.044c.

For clarification, here's an example of what it says for the misplaced romset error:

misplaced romset: e:\MAME\roms\arb.zip (move to a rompath)

and the corresponding missing set error:

Auto-Response Board (folder:L arb - size: 0)
ARB V2 Saigon 4 [folder: arbv2 - parent: arb - size: 64kb]

"arb.zip" only contains an "arbv2" directory with a "saigon_v4.0" file.... so should the file in the subdirectory be moved into the root of the zip?

Those aren't roms, they are software list systems and should go into your software directory.

And this should really go here:

He got the scanner working now. Quick fix. Update the scanner.
