Maybe not as bad as the summer 2007 CPS-3 kidz like craziness when
the kidz were drowning out Haze’s web site at the time. The amusing part was
Andreas Naive did his part and left Haze with the rowdy crowd.

Btw :

Thanks to the contributor regarding the recently emulated Sega game.
Good to know that took part of the wind out of the collector that bought a pcb of the same game
from eBay seller Bill Burger years earlier.

Next event is if the code makes its way into the source or not.

With Haze on a roll, maybe Data East Mole Hunter or Taito Balloon Bomber (roms still missing), or
Japan region of Crazy Climber will be next in line for Haze.

Not like it won't be out on the 0.245 if it doesn't get added on the 0.244.

It’s not like Haze is dumping these games you know.

If anything, this should stop the whining from the GIMME MM2 NAO people. There weren't a lot of them, but FFS were they loud whenever (and wherever) they turned up. Hopefully, finally seeing why the game never saw a release (it's really not that good) will shut them right up and in perpetuity.

For anyone who may be wondering: yes, I had played MM2 before 0.244; that was at its appearance at CAX in 2000. It doesn't seem to have improved any in the 22 years since I last played it.

True. I say some rom fairy has Haze’s telephone number on speed dial and delivered unexpected surprises to Haze. Haze could probably go to Royal Ascot horse racing park and pick horses with long shot odds and Haze could win some super mega money from horse race betting.

The game had some elements be just as good as first MM such as the music, but MM2 had a bit of added on cheesy sound effects, that could have been left alone or reuse sound effects from MM. Some of the enemy opponents were okay looking. The pace of the game was much more too hectic to be enjoyable compared to MM. Those are my takes with why MM2 needed much more fine tuning in order for it to be just as good as MM.

Had Atari Games still been in business longer, they should have released MM2 in a design layout similar to
to the Sega horse racing games where there would be six to ten linked cabs. Each player has their own control layout play panel along with their own monitor. And in the middle would be some super size monitor where everyone including players and spectators could view the overall action of what is happening while players are controlling their own marble.

The cost of the entire setup would either be in 5 figure range or maybe 6 figure range, but the gameplay
would have been optimal for each player rather than cramming multiple players next to each other with a single cab.

The guess would be whether that cab layout attract players to Marble Madness or not. Back in 1970s and 1980s, it would have been popular, but today’s younger generation would probably consider Marble Madness a boring game compare to scrolling fighter games or call of duty style games.

Folks that were able to attend CAX events can consider themselves lucky since the virus plague has almost ended those type of events. Arcades and stuff like trade shows or CAX show events will probably be a thing of the past.
