I searched around and couldn't find this. Can MAMEUI run in debug mode? If so, can you explain how? I really did try to find this myself before posting.

If I remember correctly(& I could be wrong on this & probably am) there used to be a menu option you could check to do that in the past. I think it was removed because with the UI part being tacked on, it didn't run in-line with the official MAME code so errors & bug reports didn't match up.
If you don't want to run it from command line try out John's IV/Play and under F1 just add -debug to the options line. It's fast, has a small footprint(memory & space-wise), simple but does a lot, and just plain nice to use. Better than a batch file, that's for sure!
Have fun!

Pessimist: Oh, this can't get any worse!
Optimist: Yes, it can!

No, it was got rid of about a year ago, the idea being that MAMEUI is not a development tool, but a thing for users who just want to play games.
If you want to debug arcade stuff, ARCADE64 still has debug mode but it only has working games so I'm not sure how useful that will be.
Normally I'd say that you're better off using standard MAME for debugging, but in 0.243 the debugger is changed around to make it less friendly and adds some bugs.
