Hi all,
first, I'd like to say thank you since you seem to be very patient with me - or you went away already. Well, I don't know. Anyway, regarding my time and health it's now much better, but still imperfect. I've decided to ignore it, more or less.
So, I've done a number of changes to the project already: QMC2 is now "hosted" on github.com (https://github.com/qmc2/qmc2-mame-fe) just like MAME itself, and that includes a number of modifications to work with git instead svn... if you should have accounts there, perfect. If not, I'd ask everyone who's interested in the development to create one. We had about 11 developers over the years at sf.net, some may still want to contribute.
And I've reworked the directory structure so that it's now "better readable" (well)... but other than that it should be the same as before, although I only mean Linux here.
Oh, and it's now (actually for quiet some time) a pure Qt 5+ project. I haven't had a chance to test Qt 6, though. I would expect it doesn't work.
Have fun, René

What great news. So good to see Rene return in good spirits and health.
I'll give QMC2 a PR bump since it's been a while:
QMC2 does a fine job honoring MAME's impressively deep feature set - a difficult task that most other frontends fall short on, especially when it comes to configuring devices, launching software, and the like. I use it exclusively when I'm not using the command-line and internal UI. Rene is also quite a talented and genuinely decent person to boot. If you're serious about MAME, you really should give it a shot!

You finally get to do a laserdisc entry update on your site. And also iirc the game wrist watch game you had mentioned in the past, but that wasn’t an entry, but an item on your wishlist. I guess the Mattel lcd game will still be a wait, but the Mattel led games are worthwhile.

Thanks for the head's up, abelenki!
I hadn't seen the Github nor the mailing list in the past, I would have missed this news ![](//www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif)
I shared the news in the forums.bannister.org Shoutbox, now waiting to see if he shows up there to post too ![](//www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

QMC2 just recently moved to GitHub. it was previously hosted on SourceForge. and the mailing list is still there:

It's looking like it will need a volunteer to provide Windows and macOS binaries...

yeah. answer from René:
Quote:
I have plans to do it later, but for now it's "only" source code... Windows and macOS are much more complicated than Linux is. It doesn't even build on macOS right now, probably the same on Windows. If you have the usual MinGW build env. for Windows, it should still work, but I have my doubts .
So, please be patient, but stay tuned...
Cheers, René
