Hi
Don't know the systems or games, but just wondering if the system and games have been emulated. Both systems I saw in the mid 90's in the arcade (Parramatta, Westfield, Australia) - Can't recall the arcade name.
1. Mechwarrior pod game. You entered a pod with a full panel layout. I recall there was about 8 pods that were networked. Don't know the system or the game title.
2. VR System - I recall this system running a few vr games. You entered a platform (about a meter in diameter) where you stood to play the games. I recall 2 platforms for a two player system. Don't know the system or the game titles. I believe the system was based on a Amiga hardware / os.
Can any one advise the systems and game details above and if the systems / games are emulated by an emulator or work in progress.
Thanks D

Battletech ran on Amiga hardware? Article claims it's Windows-based, but the older version they described might be the one that's Amiga-based (another source says the hardware was Amiga-based, but doesn't mention a Windows version, so who knows). I didn't know this about Battletech and never played it myself, but this sounds parallel to Virtuality, another commercial VR system that started on Amiga hardware and moved to PC in later versions. From this reddit link (and a bit from a Wikipedia page), here's what Virtuality ran:
1000CS (Cyber Space) Dactyl Nightmare - Multiplayer map with several levels and platforms; grenade launcher weapons and pterodactyl enemy Grid Busters - Robot shoot-em-up Hero - A puzzle game Legend Quest - Fantasy adventure
1000SD (Sit Down) Battlesphere - Space battle Exorex - Robot warriors Flying Aces - A biplane dogfight simulator Total Destruction - combat Racing game VTOL - A Harrier Jump Jet simulator
2000SU (Stand Up) Boxing Dactyl Nightmare 2 - Race For The Eggs! Dactyl Nightmare SP Pacman VR Shoot for Loot Sphere Zone Hunter
2000SD (Sit Down) Buggy Ball Ghost Train Missile Command X-treme Strike
3000SU (Stand Up)(Compressed Air Recoil) Quickshot Carnival Zero Hour (Last Game They developed)
1000 series units were Amiga 3000-based, 2000 and 3000 series were PC-based.

Thanks gents for the info. It was a interesting read.
Does any one know if there are plans to emulate the systems for preservation?

Can't emulate systems without dumps.
I looked into Pac-Man VR a while back: The one dump of Pac-Man VR amounts to a loose set of files that were copied off of a hard drive years, possibly decades ago. The game itself also needed a CD for things like audio tracks to play to the players, which is missing, and it's unclear what other data might be missing.
