If a Dingo eats my tracking smart phone...
#391950 - 09/29/21 06:55 AM

Does the Prime Ministah buy me a new one?

Edit: This is in regards to people being required to "check-in" at various times or whenever they go places. They have to either take a selfie, or scan a QR Code at whatever business they're patronizing.

Or something like that. If I'm correct on the selfie thing - I've gotta wonder how many pics they have of people 'ing the camera? But I bet even that's illegal.

-

This is what happens when you let them take your guns. God speed to any grass-roots uprising that overthrows this bullshit! Hopefully without violence, but if it ever comes to that - just know ol' Tom here will be rooting for ya either way.

No photos. Just QR codes, if the phone supports it.

I've heard of some rent-a-crowd silliness wanting to "Save Australia". Really, you guys need to stay in your lane and fix your own problems before inviting yourselves where you're not wanted.

How much is wanted to have to take back and put up with Murdoch [Fox founder etc.] and family?

You can keep him, as well as Mel Gibson and Iggy Azalea. Do you think you could take James Packer off our hands, too?

I wasn't even thinking of coming over there. Just support from abroad. But seriously... With some of the shit they're pulling with their own citizens, I wouldn't be surprised if the Australian (and NZ) government aren't eventually tried for crimes against humanity.

Haha once again you show that you’re completely clueless. We’re not the ones with 0.7% of the population in prison. You guys still have prison labour, capital punishment, and debtors’ prisons, depending on the state. We’re also far less likely to be shot by police (or by each other). You’re more of a police state than we are.

Wait. How many concentration camps do they have in America for people having the coof/not getting the juice?

Do you really not understand the concept of quarantine? Strangely enough, the US government has quarantine powers as well: https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/aboutlawsregulationsquarantineisolation.html - note that, “Under 42 Code of Federal Regulations parts 70 and 71, CDC is authorized to detain, medically examine, and release persons arriving into the United States and traveling between states who are suspected of carrying these communicable diseases,” and, “Breaking a federal quarantine order is punishable by fines and imprisonment.” For whatever reason, they’re just not using using their powers in this case, even as you’ve passed eight hundred thousand deaths. This is the reason there are still two thousand of you idiots dying of COVID19 most days.

But yeah, the general consensus down here is that Novax can suck a dick (pun intended). It's not about the tennis, it's about some rich asshole thinking he's above everyone else and should be allowed anywhere the fuck he wants regardless of rules. Ironically, Melbourne, home of the eternal lockdown and "Dictator Dan", allowed him through, while the federal government didn't.

You could say why can't he enter, given the thousands of ppl who are already infected, one more isn't going to make any difference.

But he's acting like an arrogant entitled asshole who thinks he can go and do whatever he wants and fuck everyone else. He needs to be taught a lesson in humility, like it or not. If he gets kicked out of the country tomorrow it won't be soon enough. Funny how the Serbian president has got all upset about it, are they best buddies or something? If novax had got himself vaxxed he would have been welcome, but he had to be an idiot.

For starters, let me remind you that I'm vaxed x3 (got a booster already). Moderna for all 3.

Camp Hansen in Okinawa has been under fire from the Okinawa (local) government (mayor and such) because a good sized group of Marines tested positive. This base, as all bases by now, was 100% vaxed. All SOFA members (to include me as a SOFA-sponsored contractor) are now pretty much on lockdown for the next couple of weeks because of this outcry. We can stop somewhere off base just to get groceries, food to go, gas, and medical appointments if we were referred out in town for a procedure.

Anti-vaxxers have plenty of reason to question... why the hell do it? It doesn't even work! And before you give an answer about it "lessening the severity"... that reasoning has zero effect on a 3rd party. The vaxxed are still catching it, and still spreading it. The last few months in Japan, there have been 4 COVID deaths, and none of them had the Omicron variety. In fact, vaxxed or not, nobody specifically with Omicron has been admitted to the ICU. No one. At least around these parts...

EDIT: And that's why I'm not a reporter... kind of buried the lead there. Point is I dunno who this dude is you're talking about or what he's done (Assuming he's just a deranged anti-vaxer), but I also don't understand why the huge outcry about it. Most of the people crying about anti-vaxxers are the same ones who cry (or agree with) "my body, my choice" when it comes to abortion. Oh the hypocrisy...

Yes it does. Unvaccinated people with severe symptoms are clogging up hospitals making it harder for other people to get treatment.

Again, not seeing it here. Couple of places have 4 people with severe symptoms. And the Vaxxed, and previously positive, are catching it and spreading it. All the while, the media on the left is sensationalizing it (in the States, at least).

As far as I know, everyone, vaxxed or not, can catch it and spread it around. However, if you're vaxxed, you'll probably get a runny nose. If you're unvaxxed, you're 9 times more likely to end up on life support. That is why you get the jab - life or death.

Meh. I honestly don't care either way. I got the jab for my job, and I've never had an adverse reaction to anything that I can remember (supposedly a penicillin reaction as a baby/toddler), so I'm just not worried about reactions or side effects at all.

In all honesty, my mind puts anti-vaxxers in 2 categories: You're either chicken shit (mostly as a result of ignorance or sheer stupidity), or you don't want to, simply because big brother told you to. Most of my life will have been military for several more years to come, so I am neither of those. Living in Japan (and being married to one) has made me accustomed to mask wearing many years ago as well.

I know there is a 3rd, with actual medical risks, but those aren't the ones making a loud fuss. Those simply get an official doctor's note, or whatever.

The tennis star of Espana won the title with a final round marathon match over Russia’s Medyedev.

Somewhat reminded me of past Nadal versus Federer tennis matches in various lengthy Grand Slam finals matches.

Didn’t miss the “joker”.

The tennis also showcased a fail of epic proportions courtesy of the state of Victoria.

After the match ended at just after 1AM, there was no public transport running aside from route 70a trams ferrying people from the tennis to Flinders Street Station (distance: 1 kilometre, if that). Cue thousands of people stuck in a dead 9-5 commuter city that claims to be 24 hours (the only things routinely open 24/7 in Melbourne city are 7-Elevens, McDonald's and Crown Casino) waiting ages for taxis to arrive. The last trains and trams ended just after midnight as per tradition, while buses finished at around 11PM (and that's the good ones e.g. SmartBus - most suburban buses finish at 9PM at the latest, with 6-7PM finishes still being common). Night services only apply on Friday and Saturday nights. Fine if you're a tourist with a hotel in Southbank or Docklands, but utterly useless to anyone else.

The government in that region should make exceptions of extending hours of transportation operations
when an event such as the tennis open is held and then resume normal hours operations when the tennis event concludes. Granted there will be expenses involved, but it seems the tennis event should be able to cover a fair amount of the expense since the event runs two to three weeks.

When I would visit family in Denver in the summer, I might attend a couple of the MLB Colorado Rockies home games while there. The city would have commuter bus ride share services on days and nights when the team hosts a home game. The operations would last until about 2AM in case any of the baseball games go into extra innings.
