Game .ini Files in MameUI

Hi Guys, I'm using Mame 0.229 and it's going well so far, but I have a little problem. Each time a game is started, an .ini file is saved directly in the Mame directory. Can I enter a path somewhere in Mame so that these are created directly in the INI directory? The INI directory is available. Can someone help me ?

Just edit your mame.ini file to point to the ini directory. There will be a variable called inipath.

I'm pretty sure that's how it's supposed to be to begin with. How did it get changed to that?
Just curious after seeing your OP.

Pessimist: Oh, this can't get any worse!
Optimist: Yes, it can!

Hi
Shouldn't MAMEUI save the ini's files by default there?
I have relies that the MAMEUI 0.230 save the ini's file in MAME directory and it should be in sub directory in ini folder like the previous MAMEUI 0.229
I have this issue in MAMEUI 0.230 and not the 0.229 and its fresh unzipped one didn't made any over write to any old files
Thanks

What does your inipath point to in mame.ini? That is where it will put ini files. It is that simple. Also, make sure you actually have a directory created in the place you want your ini files saved.

its like this
# # CORE CONFIGURATION OPTIONS # readconfig 1 writeconfig 1
# # CORE SEARCH PATH OPTIONS # homepath . rompath roms hashpath hash samplepath samples artpath artwork ctrlrpath ctrlr inipath .;ini;ini/presets fontpath . cheatpath cheat crosshairpath crosshair pluginspath plugins languagepath language swpath software
# # CORE OUTPUT DIRECTORY OPTIONS # cfg_directory cfg nvram_directory nvram input_directory inp state_directory sta snapshot_directory snap diff_directory diff comment_directory comments
as you see by defaults any game you will play the MAMEUI.exe should create the ini files in the ini folder and it was working like this till MAME 0.229 but in the MAME 0.330 it create it in MAME root instead using the ini folder as it suppose to be
check it by playing any game with MAMEUI0.229 and check where ini file saved you will see that its in the ini folder then try 0.330 and see if its save it in ini folder or in the root of MAME folder itself

In order to save the mame.ini into the ini folder, you have to change this line at your mame.ini inside the ini folder, and delete the mame.ini in your root directory:
inipath .;ini;ini/presets
to
inipath ini

Hi Sthiryu
Yes I know I did and it works but my point was that it was working by default in the previews MAME 0.229 and I didn't even have to change anything in mame.ini to make it save the ini's in the ini folder
I think there's a bug prevent MAMEUI to find the ini folder by default or there is typo or something in the code

You have 3 things in your ini path "." , "ini" and "ini/preset". I think it defaults to use "." first which means in the same directory as the mame executable. At minimum, take out the period.
I would do what the other poster said and just make it ini and move all your inis to ini directory.
