MAME Dev Tools update problem - missing file
#390446 - 03/27/21 05:00 AM

I ran my update batch files today which includes the lines:

pacman -sy
pacman -S bash pacman msys2-runtime --noconfirm --needed
pacman -Su --noconfirm

The first two times I ran it the updates ended like when pacman itself gets updated so I kicked it off the second and third times.

The third time now throws this message:

error: config file /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist.ucrt64 could not be read: No such file or directory

Anyway to recover from this? or do I have to wipe my dev tools directory and rebuild?

Thanks.

Mucci mentioned on IRC that he has the same issue and worked around it by downloading from here directly https://github.com/msys2/MSYS2-packages/commits/master/pacman-mirrors and placing it where it's looking for it,
which is simply a workaround for now, I'm still waiting to hear if anyone has an explanation and real fix.

Thanks. I was able to put the file in place to stop it from throwing the error, but now it seems to be in a confused state.

It's complaining that the file exists so nothing was changed. But if I remove it again, it fails again back to where I started. I may have to do a clean re-install after all.

Code:

error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
pacman-mirrors: /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist.ucrt64 exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

EDIT: I got it working.

I put the file in place so it would get by the initial checks then renamed it before it complained about the file existing. Then it placed the version of the file that it wanted to place. Everything is working now.

Now I just need to do this one more time on my other machine that I do builds from.
