Cannot get CD-i to work

I have been trying to get Phillips CD-i games to work (mostly to see how bad they are), and I keep getting errors even though I have the CD-i BIOS files in the correct zip name. (cdimono1.zip) and my bin/cue dump files for the game i'm trying. But it still says that it is missing files. Could someone walk me through how to get CD-i games working?

The answers that you were given on Reddit are accurate, and remain the same.
As stated by star_jump:
"If MAME is telling you that you're missing files, then the ones you have are incorrect or outdated. If you want, you can try to run MAME with the -verbose flag and paste the resulting log here."
And as stated by me:
"Even with working BIOS files, the machine is flagged as MACHINE_NOT_WORKING, and will continue to be so until I find the time and motivation to dive into fixing up the CDIC implementation."

cd-i emulation in mame is a mess: games run incredibly slow or freeze. Some titles can't be played at all.
