Section 3 of the 14th Amendment
#389557 - 01/13/21 06:53 AM

The things one doesn't see (overlooks) in the fineprint of the Constitution.

The GOP only seems to recognize 2nd Amendment....and maybe 1st Amendment on occasion even though it gets secondary status. The other parts of Constitution seem to get overlooked like a fineprint disclaimers for auto insurance.

The US citizens have already heard descriptions of rebellion, freedom, treason, sedition, insurrection, mayhem, murder, conspiracy etc. being tossed around of the events by media, former government employees, historians, opinion columnists etc.

The most likely appropriate descriptions being phrased will be sedition and or insurrection. Treason requires a bit more compared to sedition and insurrection which
can easily be seen as evidence from the illegally entering premises of Capitol building as rioters had broken through blockade barriers without legal authorization of being allowed to enter hence the various criminal charges being brought up. Same thing would have applied if this took place after 2016 GE which there was very likely election fraud committed then.....not voter fraud.

Anyway, the article provides info of what Section 3 of the 14th Amendment is about
and why it will likely be used against executive branch and also against some of
the treacherous GOP legislative branch members now that more evidence is starting to turn up.

14th Amendment enters Trump impeachment conversation. What it is, how it works

https://www.democraticunderground.com/100214907811

Congressional Democrats -- and some Republicans -- who hold President Donald Trump responsible for the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol are pursuing different ways to remove Trump from office ahead of President-elect Joe Biden's Jan. 20 inauguration, including seeking to invoke the 25th Amendment and impeach Trump a second time.

-snip-

Now, a different part of the US Constitution has entered the conversation: the 14th Amendment. Lawmakers are attempting to tee up the 14th Amendment to bar Trump from running for office again, as well as to hold US politicians accountable for supporting or participating in the Jan. 6 riots.

-snip-

The 14th Amendment -- added to the Constitution in 1866 -- has a total of five sections. Section 1, for example, says that anyone born or naturalized in the US are citizens in the state they live in.

But it's specifically Section 3 of the 14th Amendment that's been getting attention lately. In simple terms, Section 3 says that if a person has engaged in an "insurrection or rebellion" against the US, they cannot hold office.

This evidence being brought up by a former member of the Naval military is very
serious and could likely be used for expelling several GOP House members that have been identified and involved. I believe a number of GOP house members will be expelled from the House of Reps. The GOP members can probably be pardoned from being prosecuted on federal charges, but they will still be expelled/censure from House Reps and lose their earned benefits (such free healthcare for life).

Rep Mikie Sherrill claims Congress members gave 'reconnaissance' tours day before Capitol raid

https://www.democraticunderground.com/100214908914

In a live webcast Tuesday evening, Rep. Mikie Sherrill, D-11, made a startling claim that other members of Congress led groups of people through the Capitol Building on a "reconnaissance" mission one day before the riot that laid a deadly siege on the government's legislative branch.

During the Facebook Live, Sherrill, a Montclair resident, addressed her constituents to explain why she voted for a resolution to implore Vice President Mike Pence to remove President Donald Trump from office by invoking the 25th Amendment, and, after that measures foreseen failure, why she intends to support an article of impeachment against Trump for "incitement of insurrection."

But after laying out her many reasons for seeking Trump's removal, she set her sights on congressional colleagues who, she said, abetted his attempt to overturn the results of the election and undermine democracy through a violent mob.

"I'm going to see they are held accountable, and if necessary, ensure that they don't serve in Congress," she said, speaking sedately, but severely.

Sherrill did not specify whether the "groups" were visibly staunch adherents of President Trump's, nor did she detail what she described as "a reconnaissance," a term that hearkens back to Sherrill's prior military service and refers to an exploratory mission for the purpose of gaining enemy information.
