Star Soldier Vanishing Earth - How much HP needed??
#389410 - 01/06/21 07:26 PM

Hello - I was wondering if there is a performance problem in the driver for this game? For about 10 years I have never been able to run this game above 53%. This is through numerous processor upgrades in my cabinet up to my latest which is an i7 8700k OC'ed to 5.1GHZ.

I am able to run all the Rush Games, pretty much anything worth playing. I know SSVE is a shit game according to reviews but I'd really like to know why I have always had the same stagnant performance for this title.

You will likely not get 100% anytime soon until n64/aleck64 drivers get access to a workable DRC as currently all emulation is done through interpreter cores. The "Rush" games you mention are using a DRC'd core by default so the 100% mark is much more achievable.

FWIW, I have benched Star Soldier in my runs going back many years. You can see their results here:

As Tafoid says, we're not close to 100% yet even w/ today's latest CPUs (see .226).

I suggest using Project64 emulator. It renders graphics with D3D or OpenGL and it's 100% playable... and very fast.
PJ64 is now free and open-source, version 2.4.0 is latest dev build.
