I was trying to use different artwork on Mr Do's page for cross-hairs and cant get them work. Also was the F1 option removed to disable the cross-hair artwork?

Yes. It was removed all the way back in 2009.

2009? Lol time flies. Any reason why the option to turn off crosshair was removed? Are the other crosshair artwork not usable?

You can still use external crosshair artwork – I tested it not long ago when I was cleaning up the menu code for selecting the crosshairs.

From a couple replies up... for games that use it, you can go into the "Crosshair Options" menu and turn it off completely, if you want. Game CFG file will remember the last setting.
