Oh that is nothing unusual.
I had a boot strap loop for nearly 3 months, after first update on spectre/meltdown updates some years ago.
either ditch windows or use a enterprise version of it. This versions let you delay future updates. I think you can delay three months or at least some weeks. You could wait that time and see if other people have update problems and you can prepare for that trouble. is at least something.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully you didn't lose anything critical.
Only trouble I've had with Windows 10 is I used the Disk Cleanup tool a while back and noticed Downloads was using a good chunk of space. So I told it to free up the space. I didn't realize until a few days later that it removed everything in my Downloads folder. I was using that folder as a staging area for all my downloads until I found a permanent home for them. I guess I was just not paying attention.

If you have a Win7 product key, you can download the ISO directly from Microsoft.
