External Hard Drive Letter On mame64.exe

Hello,
I have a 5TB external USB drive loaded with mame64.exe and all the files and ROMs and stuff. When I plug the drive into the computer, it shows up as the F:\ drive. So I have the file directories in mame.ini set to the F:\ drive.
For example:
rompath "F:\MAME 0.199 Software List CHDs (merged);F:\MAME 0.199 ROMs (split);F:\MAME 0.199 Software List ROMs (split);F:\MAME 0.199 CHDs (merged)"
Is there a way to tell it to work no matter what the drive letter is when I plug in the drive? So If it maps to G:\ or H:\ or something else, that it'll still work?
Thanks.

Not that I'm aware of.
The mame.ini file has no way of knowing what letter designation the drive is given unless you tell it.

You could also just move the .exe and the support files to the external drive structure and then use relative paths in your mame.ini.

You could add mulitple paths to rompath entry for the multiple drive letter Windows assigns. Just copy the ones you already have and duplicate them with a new drive letter. It's not pretty but it works.
