running 32bit on 64win7

hey guys.. I have old roms from back in the day .. 32 bit. is there a way to run these on a 64bit gui mame installer running windows 7. I would it for the little fella
I tried the option run as winxp sp?.. that didn't seem to work more than once even when I checked the box to run like this..

Yes it's possible but most of your ancient ROMs will not work with a recent version of MAME. This doesn't have anything to do with MAME or your OS being 32- or 64-bit, it's because ROMs get updated and the contents of [example romname.zip] has changed too much over time.

Either you keep fighting with compatibility settings and try to get your ancient version of MAME32 to run, or you use the latest version of MAME with recent, updated rom sets.
