TeamEurope has now completed decapping and dumping all 8 i8751 MCUs that I sent.
https://team-europe.blogspot.com/2019/10/final-mcus-from-brians-package.html
This time it was: Body Slam 317-0015 (verified because it was available) Last Mission DL00-USA Fire Trap (US) DI-12
Last Mission was sent along in this package because I had wondered about 2 stray bytes in an unused are of the dump. The first dump was basically the last time TeamEurope used heat on these extremely fragile versions of the i8751 chip package. Since then TeamEurope has switched to a time consuming labor intensive method to remove the tops. This new method reduced issues in the process that caused some failures with previous attempts.
So a second DL00-A (or USA) MCU was secured and sent for processing and the new dumped was identical except for the 2 stray bytes were 0x00 this time like expected.
We now have successfully processed 20 formerly protected MCUs that produced new dumps or verified existing dumps. So emulation purists should be happy we're using real MCU code versus handcrafted hacks or MCU simulation. Collectors should be happy they have the code available to restore these MCUs. As shown in one of the posts by TeamEurope, one sample had blown the internal ground and another was severely corroded. TeamEurope was able to fix these issues and produce a good dump. So now I can send fully functional replacement MCUs to the collector who was kind enough to let us experiment on his MCU chips.
As already shown, Birdie Try will show the most improvement from using the MCU code and you might not notice any improvements with the other titles. At least we can be sure the emulation will be correct as far as hardware goes.
A job well done and my hat's off to TeamEurope!

Its great that these chips have been dumped and preserved and new ones can be programmed to replace dead ones on other boards.
