I am unable to play Contra 3: The Alien Wars on mame, is the game working ? i am getting this error on it

That game's flagged as not working, but the error you're seeing is that you're missing ROM files for the set.

The error box says that you're missing files. What could that possibly mean? A mystery for the ages, surely.

thanks John IV & MooglyGuy, i have searched for the roms on several websites but got the same size every where that is the reason after several tries i post it here so got guidance for it. I know the game has been flagged for some reason but i want to know any one here ever played it on mame32 ?
Also let me know i was unable to play Contra and Super Contra stretched, the rest of the games i am playing are normally stretched

Aspect ratio looks fine in all three games, lack of borders aside.
EDIT: Oh wait, Nintendo Super System version? I don't think those games ever booted.
EDIT 2: Also, MAME32? Nevermind, I was talking about official MAME.

You can still use MAME here, just use the machine SNES and then use the internal File Manager to either load the software list entry or load your romset 'picker' style.
command line options:
mame snes contra3
or, if using you own image:
mame snes -cart path/to/contra3
