Both the hardware and code for this video dart board are reminiscent of Cuatro en Linea, so the Olympic Darts dump and schematic will help emulate that game. I recently hooked up the I2C EEPROM for both games.

The UM487F "HCGA" video controller was designed for use in PC clones rather than simple Z80-based games like these, but I haven't seen an actual clone motherboard or ISA video card that has one.

We have access to another Olympic Darts 1 PCB with slighly different hardware (but with its EPROM dead), and we've seen a third PCB version with two large chips with their surface scratched out (seems like a FPGA and a CPLD). I'll try to get and document them soon.

Here's another video of Super Dead Heat but with a japanese announcer. new [Re: ClawGrip]
#382720 - 06/11/19 01:52 AM

If you seen the video from Phil Bennett listen to the female speaking in Japanese from these videos:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOC56PvZN5w
https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm10913752

Now I wonder myself is there 1 or 2 versions of that game, and if there's only 1 version made does it also have a voice option for Japanese apart from English?

The version dumped has an English/Japanese DIP but there's only English speech present in the ROMs AFAIK.

Great to know Super Dead Heat is now fully emulated with world and Japanese regions.

I had never seen it in arcades myself in 1980s and with only seeing images on Tribble's unMAMEd for a very long time, I was guessing maybe it was one of those Taito games that might never be emulated/preserved. I hope Taito Vertexer has a future chance as well.

Mucho props to the various contributors.

Granted it might be on the 'unfun' side of things, but I am glad OG and company are tackling Mindset computer / video art system. Just seeing any possible future images of Mindset's version of Lumena (a fancy, expensive paint program) showing the paint program in MAME emulation mode will make Mindset emulation definitely worthwhile.

Good to know the game is about fully documented as well as being fully playable. Another game entry that can eventually have long long time screen images finally be removed from Tribble's unMAMEd Taito page.

Very impressed with the fact both game and actual paperwork found. Reading the code updates, the dip settings guesses could probably go on forever had the paperwork not been found.

If ever having pdfs made sometime later, American Reprographics Company is the place to go to imo. There should be location nearby since it is a chain of them. I know some will say Kinko's, but American Reprographics Company is the better choice.

I went to the Long Beach, CA location for the Meadows Bombs Away and For Play logic schematics scans.

I had color and black and white scans requests, but specifically asked to have black and white scan done with color scanner because the black/white high speed scanner might rip the logic schematics sheet when it quickly moves paper back and forth. That is why request should be have color scanner do both color and black and white scans even if it might cost extra.

iirc, the price for the stuff I wanted done was between $50 to $60 price range, but well worth the expense.
