Gone Fishing Update ? Anyone working on it
#381020 - 02/09/19 12:35 PM Attachment: gfmame.jpg 121 KB (0 downloads)

Hello ppl
A couple of years ago i remember reading here this simple arcade game got dumped (PC based, compact flash card), just wondering if anyone has had a chance to look at it (mame devs)& if there is any news ?

Big Yetisports fan here from back in the day, i know JVL released a couple more newer versions for their itouch bartop gaming systems, but they are way overpriced here to buy.

Also if anyone else knows of any Monkey Bash type games like the Merit touchscreen one already on mame, please let me know.
Thanks

No. The fact that it's PC-based means it's anything but simple to emulate.

No. If you haven't seen anything show up in a given release's whatsnew.txt file, then there hasn't been any news.

Cheers MooglyGuy

I was guessing too it was a drama being PC based & flash cart probably had a dongle aswell as one of my chinese touch screen machines is the same system, by the sounds of it.

Do you know by any chance if the (gonefsh2.zip) released but not working game Gone Fishing 2 is an updated version released by IGS or a different game altogether ?

Can't find any info on that one. Cheers

the IGS game is just a video slot machine as far as I know

(needs internal ROM of CPU dumping)

Hi
Just saw this post. It was my Gone Fishing that was dumped. I no longer have it, so hopefully everything needed was provided. I also have a JVL Echo if anyone wants to dump it.
Thanks!

Over the past 2023-2024 year, Kale has been restructuring the pc hardware platform in the video portion segment. There has been progress with some Lazertron games and some Funworld pc hardware games, but still some ways to go. Nothing playable yet, but some games are visible on the screen.

See link on Bannister’s site.

Thanks there. Nearly 5 years in MAME frame time seems so several dozens years gone by. Kale has been making progress with some of the pc hardware games over the past year, but still some ways to go before any of the games are playable. I am not sure if the JVL brand is supported in MAME yet.

May 2024 status. The game name had been documented in the source file, but no data yet supported unlike other games in the source file at this time. Expect that to eventually change, but a lot of PC system hardware related work yet to be supported. There has been Lazertron PC hardware games getting recent support, but this part of coinop hardware work will still take time.

A couple links to current status of the source file to see what is currently within the source file.
