Granted that I would prefer other Democratic leaders, but that should be at a later time since experience, what Pelosi has, is what is needed for now instead of a rookie that has to go through process of 'learning the ropes' of procedures for being a House majority leader.

Pelosi's 2006 mistake of "Impeachment off table" was a blunder and should have said something like: "We will do investigations and gather evidence. If enough is there for impeachment, the House might proceed." Never commit to "Yes or No" up front face first unless wanting to faceplant into a mud puddle.

Same reason why I still voted for Feinstein. Nothing wrong with her opposing candidate DeLeon, but long term experience is what is most needed at this time when dealing with Russian traitors still in office. Had things been different, I would have voted for DeLeon.

I disagree completely. Experience taking corporate money is all those pieces of shit have. Pelosi is a fucking moron incapable of even making coherent public speeches or inspiring people. She's a fucking pathetic old piece of shit. She needs to take her $125 million and retire already. She's talking about crossing the isle and working with Republicans and that's the last thing anyone wants. It's gridlock left and right for a reason, nobody wants centrists to keep this shitshow going as is. I can't stand Nancy or Feinstein, I'd never vote for either of them for any position other than retiree.

>Experience taking corporate money is all those pieces of shit have.

Regarding Feinstein, I agree. My preference would have been she retire instead of Barbara Boxer (former CA senator), but one thing Feinstein understands happens to be rules and procedures on the Senate level.

The best case example with her experience is when GOP Iowa senator Grassley was intimidating all the Democratic senators on the judiciary committee about releasing any transcripts of various testimonies from witnesses that took place before the Senate judiciary committee, Feinstein disregarded the threats by Grassley explaining in front of his face that "the transcripts from witnesses are not classified material..."

What Feinstein did was make Grassley look foolish and a crook as well. These are senior level experiences that a rookie senator would be fearful of doing. This was one of those times where I put away the dislike of her "corporate held Democratic views" and was willingly choosing to vote for her even though DeLeon is also a decent candidate.

I know there are "ideal" candidates that would be preferable, but at this time I would rather select experience over an ideal, but rookie candidate.

>She's [Pelosi] talking about crossing the isle and working with Republicans and that's
>the last thing anyone wants.

Consider that more of a talking ploy because Pelosi knows that the current crop of GOP crazies in congress won't agree on anything, but insane psychotic legislation and Pelosi knows that. Pelosi knows the house's GOP's "Freedom Caucus" group consists of Russia backers that would take Putin (and Russian oligarch's money) for any criminal favor that would affect US. With Pelosi being Speaker of majority come next year, she will know how to upset GOP's applecart.

Adam Schiff is my second choice, but I'll grudgingly go with Pelosi because of past experience.....even if she said a "dumb" comment back in 2006.

Heck...if there were any sane non-crooks on GOP side, I might have been okay, but the current crop in the legislative branch are crooks/traitors/physchos/Christian Dominionists racist nut cases...there is no sane GOP member left. The GOP is a non-stop crime organization these days. It is not a political party of when it used to be.

*edit*

Instead of creating a new post, just wanted to show where Pelosi was wrong with her statement in 2006 and why Jerry Nadler's statement is what Pelosi should have said back then.

The way how Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) handled the impeachment topic is having investigations being done first and evidence collected where possible and then determine if impeachment should be done or not. Nadler understands this better than Pelosi imo and knew not to repeat Pelosi's 2006 mistake. That is why I can trust Nadler to do the job correctly. It might be where even if evidence is gathered and house branch decides to call impeachment when enough evidence is overwhelming, the votes to toss out the sob might not be there, but the evidence will tarnish the sob that come 2020, more of the GOP crooks will be voted out.

Ranking Dem on House Judiciary Tells Tapper No Plans for Impeaching Trump: 'We're Far From That'

During a State of the Union interview, Nadler told CNN’s Jake Tapper he was waiting to see the results of Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s report.

“The key word is potential, if it comes up,” he said, referring to a 2017 New York Times article in which he is said to have raised that possibility. “Impeachment is a question that will come down the road maybe, depending on the findings of the Mueller administration and of other investigations. We’re far from that right now.” Nadler’s remarks are especially significant given that he is expected to lead the Judiciary Committee whose responsibility it would be to oversee impeachment if it occurred.

The congressman told Tapper should that day come, it must be a bipartisan decision.

“If we get to the question of impeachment, then one of the tests should be — and I’ve said this repeatedly — is the evidence so strong of misdeeds so terrible that you really believe at the beginning of the process that by the end of the process, when all this is laid out publicly, a very large fraction of the people who voted for the president will grudgingly acknowledge to themselves and to others that you had to choice but to impeach the president?” he said. “That’s a test because you don’t want the country torn apart in the sense that half the country says for the next 30 years ‘we won the election, you stole it.'”
