It's a mixture of the ol' alcohol consumption issue (think former house leader / non-sober-man J. Boehner of Ohio) and the pathetic attempt of 'fake' acting that are putting on a display for some drama effect. See Seinfeld reference with tv character Elaine providing an annecdote.

Yep. Just comparing Clarence Thomas event versus this, Thomas had more credibility than the pony show that was trotted out today. I would like to see any of the law enforcement agencies (including within Maryland) just bring up an investigation since there is/are no expiration laws in Maryland with sex related crimes.
btw: this nominee was working on former Independent Special prosecutor Ken Starr's staff in 1990s when Starr was investigating Clintons while they were in office back then. Mr. K kept on continually pestering late Vince Foster's family for a couple years supposedly accusing them conspiring with Clintons of doing in Vince Foster. And he was also going after others while he was a member of Starr's staff and accusing associates of Clintons being involved in various criminal activity. This stuff then was the real 'witch hunt' compared to what Mueller and Special Council are investigating at this time. Time for Mr. K to get the investigation treatment himself for a change.
On the lighter/darker humor side of things and the way how GOP senators in committee were behaving today, I wouldn't mind this gag stunt being carried out in the various hall chambers throughout the capitol building....maybe help retire a few GOP members quicker than they expect...

Uh-huh. Sure. No. There's nothing he could've done that would make you think he was worthy of SCOTUS. If only he had (actually) gotten drunk, killed her, and left her for dead under a bridge - then everything would be okay and we wouldn't even be having this farce of a trial.
As a left winger of course I don't want any right winger to be the judge anywhere, especially not the supreme court. But that aside, this manbitch is an estrogen bomb that cries when he talks about his old high school buddies. If there was a lefty getting nominated who also cried over the littlest stupidest shit and had bitchboy temper tantrums like this during confirmation I'd say find another lefty.

Oh right. I have to explain my reason for posting that. See, they're delaying his SCOTUS confirmation based on an accusation without evidence... Even the so-called "victim" says she can't recall like 95% of everything else that could corroborate her story, and her witnesses refuse to testify (probably for fear of charges of perjury/lying under oath).
But for Kennedy there is evidence, and it's (or was) all good for him. (And this was my point, that...) Maybe if Kavanaugh had just murdered Ford way back then, we wouldn't have to endure this ridiculous shit-show. It was meant to be sarcastic.
ETA: It's not so much about how you'd vote as it is about how they're treating Kavanaugh (and the hypocrisy of it).
