I'm intrigued by how ClawGrip has so many bootlegs.

it's not difficult to find bootlegs, especially in Europe

half the games you saw operated back in the day were probably bootlegs

auction sites are full of bootlegs

some bootlegs are less common than others tho

some bootlegs even go for a lot of money themselves now, eg. a bootleg Bubble Bobble sells for a lot more than it should be worth.

there are some bootlegs we know exist but haven't yet seen to dump, eg. there are known to be a bunch of the other nmk16.cpp games hacked to use Raiden sound, like Mustang and Thunder Dragon were.

In southamerica exists too bootlegs, but all was european or asian

Too exists bootlegs running with Street Smart sounds, like Superman, and nmk16.cpp (acrobat mission, Super space fortress Macross and Hacha mecha fighter)

Hell we even had bootleg SNES systems at one point in my hometown.

I really wish I could get a bunch of folks from The Dumping Union here so we could buy up all the shitty bootlegs from the few remaining arcade operators in town.

One thing I can say for growing up in Ireland... Damn near everything was a bootleg, including Atari games that were being manufactured at the same time in Tipperary.

Blame it on ridiculously high import duties and a lot of things coming into the country under less-than-legitimate circumstances. Also: piracy.
