Sort of. I'm officially retired from Naval service after 24 years. Been a hell of a ride and got to see and do a lot of things. Still a Chief at retirement, but to the individual that made the comment about "just a Chief" a ways back, there is no such thing, fucker. Only 1% ever enlist. Only 3% of those ever become a Chief. I'll take that with pride, thank you. When asked how long it takes for the average sailor to become a Chief, the answer is, unequivocally, "An average sailor will NEVER make Chief".
Anyway, a job kind of fell into my lap that wasn't even on my radar, but I will be able to keep living in Japan beginning in December, and still deploy with the Navy. Just with less rules in the Liberty ports 👌🏻👍. I'm going to be the Xerox repair man 😂.
And, I'm probably going to have a lot of time for MAME, since (and this is unthinkable in my still military mind) the contract has me working a 5 day week, even when out to sea.
Probably too much sharing but I've been around MAME since 99, so this place feels like family (disputes and all 😅)
