er no thanks. i'd like to see MAME emulating it. I'm glad you know what version of Demul is the latest 1 & set it up getting it to work ok, i've tried a few times to get Demul working but failed badly.

I do hope there's some serious break thru's with Naomi emulation as there's some great games on that system. Keep up the great work & thanks to all the MAME team

It soooo easy to setup Demul. You don't need to do much, just load the emulator, select a folder for the ROMs. Then select a game to play and you're done. You can play with emulator settings some other time. And this emulator actually does 3D GPU rendering which makes the games run lightning fast even on a low-class PC.

Yep, pretty much my experience too.

It is definately impressive. It can even run the 3 screen games properly. I suspect its more than just because of offloading hardware rendering though, all the emulation is actually HLE.
I know MAME is all about technical authenticity, but isn't the actual experience (i.e. the game having close to actual arcade graphics) also a part of being authentic?
I mean Demul's graphics still look far more like the actual arcade machine's than MAME's software rendered output does. MAME seems to often render 3D hardware-emulated games way too pixelated and jaggy/unfiltered. Not just Sega or Naomi, there appears to be something generally missing/unemulated somehow.
It would be great if MAME could at least support the option of using 3D GPU rendering with a command-line switch or something.
I know the obvious reply will be "just use Demul then" but I'm just trying to give a suggestion to improve MAME.
