M1 final
#377419 - 07/04/18 02:40 AM

I realized today the last time M1 and its frontend BridgeM1 were updated is one hundred years ago sans a zero and it has been so long some people here might not even know about it. M1 is an arcade sound emulator by R. Belmont. You can play arcade music by itself in player. The frontend for it BridgeM1 is made by Fujix.

I put a rar of the last group of merged downloads attached. You can download it and extract it into a folder and open bridgem1.exe. This is what the default looks like but you can change the skin:

Put roms in the roms folder or change the path in the ini files you see. If you have issues post them on the correct message boards. I'm just trying to introduce more people to the programs, not trying to be tech support.

Does this update include support for the Toaplan games whose MCUs were finally dumped?

It means you didn't read the first sentence I wrote.

So I'll take that as a no.

There's one I've never heard before, unless you meant "rapier's wit"...

Getting back to m1, too bad it's not been updated in awhile. It'll happen when it happens, of course...

You simply won't see any updates to the main M1 core.
This limits what it can do and how well it can do it.
For many years, I attempted to add new sets and correct existing ones to match newer MAME romsets.
I haven't updated the XML for over 2 years now mostly due to lack of time and desire.
For what it is worth, here is the last XML I posted: http://mameload.mameworld.info/m1xmldownload.htm
If I ever attempt to update at all, you'll be able to obtain at that link.

Note to Smitdogg, your package upload is showing 0 size. I presume it is another forum issue.

Without knowing anything about how this M1 works. It would be nice if MAME simply assimilated at as a machine and could preform all of those functions or w/e it does or does vgmplay do basically the same thing?

I used this program to extract the door prise music from Williams “The Champion Pub” pinball as a ring tone.
if only it could extract Atari music.
I’d like a Major Havoc ring tone.

Yes. Mamesick had an M1 front-end alongside his MAMEUIFX build (downloaded separate, though?). It was a major reason why I continued to update so when he stopped development, there wasn't really a pressing reason to keep up the continued effort to match current romsets.
