Coleco Telstar Arcade, Epoch Cassette Vison and Gakken Compact Vision TV-Boy Emulation
#376616 - 06/03/18 01:29 PM

Anyone can say me how is the dumping of Coleco Telstar Arcade, Epoch Cassette Vison and Gakken Compact Vision TV-Boy. I always see the "mess dumping project" page but is like this for 11 years.

It sounds like you know quite well how it's going, you just don't like the answer. What exactly do you want people to "say you"?

well if nobody has anything else to say.
I saw your additions to the mame are great additions (cof cof).
almost come close to the additions of ranger_lenier (this is a lie lol) the mistake was mine I should have asked this to a GOOD mess developer called ranger_lenier.
and answering your question I want people to say "fuck MooglyGuy"

No immediate responses is either with weekend with folks away doing other stuff. Or few know the status. First reminder is Stiletto's old post since mess.org is no longer.

The pages are now at mess.redump.net
as described in Stiletto's post.

The page is somewhat out-of-date http://mess.redump.net/dumping/have

Some entries there are now already emulated.

As for the question, only update is Coleco Telstar Arcade. See Sean's posts within
the long running thread on Bannister's forums.

It appears the chips have to be processed first and then someone would have to create the cpu emulation (unless it already exists) instructions before the hardware can be specifically emulated.

As of this time, Sean and hap are mainly working on Sharp SM5xx family handhelds emulation which could be either Konami, the Game and Watch series, or the long list of Tiger Electronics items. Down at bottom is running status of Tiger Electronics stuff that Sean still has to work on. This year it will be mainly Tiger Electronics stuff and Game and Watch as well. This will probably be same thing for next year as well with amount of Tiger Electronics material still out there.

Wow, you really have a way with people. If you haven't seen any progress on some aspect of the project, it probably means there has been no progress. People work on what they feel like working on when they feel like working on it. If you want something else to be worked on, the only way to ensure that happens is to work on it yourself.

Why would they? I said everything that needed to be said.

> I saw your additions to the mame are great additions (cof cof).

It's "cough", but thanks! Yeah, my changes to MAME are pretty eclectic, but all things considered they amount to over 15 years' worth of actually contributing to the project and working on the systems that I wanted to see emulated, rather than demanding that other people do my bidding.

> almost come close to the additions of ranger_lenier (this is a lie lol)

Oh man, I wish I could even come close to ranger_lenier's contributions, but I know you're just trying to flatter me. In fact, his twin brother, ranger_lennier, is an even more prolific contributor.

Let's all take a moment to thank both ranger_lenier and ranger_lennier for their collective contribution to MAME. You guys are awesome, thanks so much!

> the mistake
> was mine I should have asked this to a GOOD mess developer called ranger_lenier.

Hey, don't be so hard on yourself. MAME developers have only been doing emulation work, with their progress free and open for all to see, for over twenty years now. I can surely understand how if you're new to things, you might not know that tidbit - it can be really difficult at times to apply a minimum level of logic and sense to things. I mean, just the other day I thought that I could microwave a frozen pizza! Instead, my microwave oven caught on fire. Then when I tried to put the fire out, I tried spraying it out from the kitchen sink, but I got a really bad electrical shock.

Basically what I'm saying is, don't worry about it, we all do catastrophically stupid things sometimes.

> and answering your question I want people to say "fuck MooglyGuy"

Me too, but you know that actions speak louder than words. I haven't been getting much here on the ol' homefront lately, so I guess that means you're volunteering, right?
