System16 to Genesis/Megadrive porting possibility.

Few days ago I got an offer from TN homebrew game developer to port Riot City for Sega Genesis/MegaDrive.

Concerning this I'd like to ask you: is an option with a direct port throught modified with architectures differences considering disassembled code possible?
