DU Fundraiser: Is that a super deformed Akuma and a crayon cab with a fire extinguisher? -DONE
#373343 - 01/23/18 02:24 AM

A few years ago while researching I discovered there was a Capcom game made in 1997 that uses super deformed fighter graphics like Super Gem Fighter. I asked ShouTime to see if he could track it down and now years later, he did! Here is an ad for it.

It's a very rare Capcom PCB named Super Medal Fighter. It is not CPS1/2/3.

Also we need help paying for a very rare ST-V game called "Soreike! Anpanman Crayon Kids".

We want to reach the goal of $300 to help with a portion of the costs. Please click below to donate. Please put "Super Gem Fighter" in the paypal notes (it's ok if you already donated and didn't).

People should donate toward superdeformed Dan graphics alone, crazy not to. These are awesome graphics, probably the sound is sicker than the current flu season as well.

From the chipset on the PCB, it appears that the SuperGrafx was good for a sixth game after all.

Stuff like this is exactly what MAME is all about IMO. Documenting obscure games that only existed in one country (Japan), adding new information to the known history of a company (8ing) and finding hardware being used in ways that no-one knew it was being used for (Hudson Soft chips)
