I am completely new to Hex editing, and have no clue what Im doing. I have a rom of the game Willow, and want to make it widescreen for my own use, but A: am not sure how to read hex, and B: dont know where that information would be held within the rom. If anyone knows how, that would be helpful.

But why would you make Willow even more fatter?
Look good like this. Normal screen.
Widescreen. Look like fat people. Willow weight gotten worst. lol

Oh I see now. That won't work because it have to be redone completely I think. The reason is that the graphics can't move out. You just gonna have ether a black bar or scramble graphics bar. Capcom have to do that. Unless there is a gaming DEV who can do that. But might get sued over the copyrights if the graphics and sounds are the same. The permission from Capcom is needed. None of us here know how to do that.

That's not possible with 2D games on 2D hardware. The background size is a function of the hardware, so you'd have to both reprogram the game and make extensive changes to the emulation.
