Typhoon 2001 (PC) Source
#373010 - 01/13/18 09:30 AM

I don't suppose anyone has the source code for Typhoon 2001 or knows how to contact the author?

I built a custom "Tempest 2001" cabinet for playing Typhoon 2001, but I'd like to make some tweaks for cabinet play:

1. Currently, you cannot use the spinner/mouse to change letters for entering initials on high scores. I'd like to change that or remap the buttons to allow for entering initials.

2. Currently, it continues on the same level as the previous game that was played. I'd like to "reset" the game after a game ends so that you can start on level 1 again (or get to select your level).

I figure it's a long shot, but thought I'd ask.

Cheers!

That is a good clone. I played that before. Graphics is perfect.

You are hereby invited to attend California Extreme.
Please bring your cab with you.

I’d really like to put Space Junk in a cabinet. Maybe on an IPad Pro in a cabaret. As far as I know, its not available on AppleTV.

Typhoon 2001 is a beautiful looking game but unfortunately it has one major gameplay breaking flaw:
In Tempest 2000 you can easily still shoot the enemies that reach the top edge if you position your ship at a certain angle (without jumping). In Typhoon 2001 when the enemies reach the top edge you're dead, unless you have the jump powerup.
That's why I still prefer the original games over that remake.

The ship just turn on each line. The arms stay the same. No changes on the arms. This isn't the real Tempest anyway. The object is try to kill them before they reach to the top.
