Anybody else feel like Rick and Morty is taking a giant turd in season 3?

Rick all of a sudden is a "superhero" with empathy, Morty has it together and is the voice of reason, Jerry is decending some testicles... the whole thing is a carefully scripted family sitcom turd now.
What made it so enjoyable was it wasn't trying so hard. I haven't heard a single drunken burped out "MooOoOrty" yet this season.
Im still a fan, but I'm dubious. It's a far cry from Morty licking Rick's balls to get the time machine working again, Morty having to smuggle seeds "waaaaaay up" in his butthole, or Rick plotting to kidnap Jessica so Morty can get laid after he drops a nutrino bomb in a drunken blackout binge.

I've enjoyed this latest season. The problem lies in that everyone was just go amped up for it that it makes sense that it feels like it is not living up to all the hype that surrounded it. I look at it as the family dynamic changing and the people are changing as a result and slowly being shaped into new personalities (or latent character qualities are taking over). Just enjoy the ride.
