No it's just a cutesy medal game. Only NBA Jam is NBA Jam. No substitutes for that gem.

Cute basketball game, but any time you have a medal game there is some of the "game" taken out and "random redemption prize situation to make kids smile" added in. NBA Jam is a serious arcade game.
