So this animation was pulled from a game and modified for a site which will remain unnamed due to the fact MW probably wouldn't want to be associated with it. However, I know I've seen this animation before (I thought it was R-Type II, but it's not the same), but I'm not sure what game it's from.

I don't remember much of it. I think it cut out and then made it into steel letters. Could be wrong.

and X-Out and probably a bunch of other Amiga titles by the same publisher.

Thank you both! I knew I saw it before and it was gnawing at me. That's where.

I didn't find the second game for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. Only Turrican. I think it missing from the megadriv softwarelist.
Edit: Oh wait. They rename it. "also for the Mega Drive/Genesis and Game Boy rebranded as Universal Soldier." Look different.
Edit 2: There is Mega Turrican as well. For the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.

Turrican 2 was rebranded as 'Universal Soldier' on the MD.
