one question:
I trying to compile (with the latest build v2 + pacman -Sy) I get the following error:
GCC 6.3.0 detected
makefile:1005: *** MINGW32 is not set. Stop.
any idea?
(win10 x64 for compil 32 and 64 bits builds)
edit: with buildtools-32.bat or buildtools.bat (from builds tools v1.5) it's seem ok !

well you used to be able to run it without a CD in MAME, but that was due to a hack to bypass the entire startup code, if you set the 'NOCD' flag in the Red Earth bios it still actually checks for a CD, so the real NOCD bios is probably different.
so no, it doesn't belong in MAME if it's just that same old not-working on hardware hack.

Certainly. In fact, the buildtools v2 is not complete. This pack offers exe that do not include paths (unlike version 1.5 which proposed this directly in a .bat file).

Any advise to MINGW32 is not set. Stop.
I tried set MINGW32 trough windows system variables
MINGW32=C:\msys64\mingw32
But still I cannot compile latest mame.
