Fixing Color Gotcha

Heh. I remember the ebay pcbs auctions from 2016 and this is good to see someone with the skills that bought many of those pcbs from 2016 ebay auctions was able to put everything together to preserve actual history.....stuff that maybe only a few folks younger than 55 years of age ever knew about this when this was going on back in early 1970s. I only saw the black white version of the game myself.

I hope it is okay to show clip here, but do visit the blog entry. It is worth reading.

Color Gotcha vid clip from the page https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFkUgivTsWI

I wonder how much more work compared to black/white version of Gotcha is required in order to have color version of Atari Gotcha emulated in MAME.

In the meantime, I hope any hardware specific details (ttl parts and pieces) that Ed assembled together can be added to src/mame/drivers/atarittl.cpp

It would be neat to see both variations of Gotcha being supported in MAME sometime in the future.

btw: If that Nutting Associates Wimbledon cab, in photo, is working, that would be great to see youtube video clip image of that in action. I never saw that cab in person when I went to arcades during early to mid 1970s years.

I admit

I'm jealous of his arcade cabinets.

Sit down Sinistar? Wow.

On one hand, it's pretty cool to uncover an easter egg that's been hidden for 40 years, and to confirm something that could reasonably be considered the first easter egg in a game. On the other hand, that's an incredible amount of effort for an extremely underwhelming result.

Thus the self-deprecating humor being spot on. Maybe that made it easier but still spot on, all the way to the end with the alt graphics set only being triggerable with hardware mods.

Submitted game credit changes and the easter egg to Arcade-History RIGHT away, and it's now added to the entry.

(Meanwhile, KLOV - actually cited in the article - does nothing...)
