Finally replaced my core2duo laptop

She had a good run, but she can't do VMs and the blu-ray burner won't burn ANYTHING anymore. Even though I can't stand the price of apple hardware, I must be able to play around in OS X.
Got an ASUS ROG GL553VD-DS71
i7 7700HQ
16GB RAM
NVIDIA 1050 4GB
$1099 tax free. There was a better MSI laptop available, but not worth the $1699 price tag over this one.

So my main trigger for getting a new laptop turned out fine. I can boot up my Hackintosh VM.
Now... how does this baby handle MAME? I'd sure like to know... Out of the 3 portable HDDs I carry around with me, the one with my 3DS games/backups (both SD and NAND backups), and MAME roms, is damaged. I won't be home for another 5 weeks
