#363615 - 02/17/17 10:28 AM

Hi,
Somebody can tell me how play one the software from ibm5170 list? Do I need to have a DOS boot disk or can I just select one of the software from the list?

Depends on the game. Some games have their own boot sector and work alone, some others need to boot a Disk Operative System (DOS) first and others need to be installed into a Hard Disk Drive.

If you don't know how to attach a hard drive you can refer to this recent topic and install MS-DOS first.

Next you will need to learn how to configure system files properly so you have enough free conventional memory available. Something many DOS games demand.

I hope you know the basic DOS commands to move around, otherwise you will need to learn that too. The softlist includes many operative systems like "MS-DOS (Version 6.22)" or "Microsoft Windows 98 (bootdisk)" that may help you getting started in the process of running DOS games.

Thanks for the answer!
I used to work with MS-DOS (a long time ago)
But I didn't have any boot disk image, that's why I asked.
I'll try to find one and attach it to a hard disk.
