I missed the news, but John_IV has got his hands on a Surface Pro 4, and used the opportunity to run benchmark tests of MAME 0.180 on both the Surface Pro 4 (December 21st) and his desktop (December 2nd), and you can compare the MAME 0.180 results on his desktop against MAME 0.172's results. It also looks like he's preparing for automated nightly testing - exciting!

[EDIT] It looks like nearly everything slipped in performance by a little or a lot in eight months, with the exception of games that use the "netlist" system (pong / kidniki / etc.), which saw massive speedups.
