Moose's Software Valley - new website
#362030 - 12/31/16 01:28 PM

Longtime MAMEWorld community members know of Moose O'Malley and Moose's Software Valley.

Please be aware that the URL has changed. You can now find Moose's Software Valley at the following URL:

http://moosesoftware.16mb.com/

Home to such "classic" utilities (last updated: 2002-2003), such as:
- MAME 32 INI Tools
- MAME Benchmarker
- MAME Screen Shot Organiser
and a host of other shareware and freeware utilities.

(It actually changed in September, but we only just now became aware of it. )

Hey, thanks a lot Stiletto, I've only just seen your post (searching for another thread). Really appreciate this.

The MAME utilities were last updated ages ago, and are really only for ancient versions of MAME (from around the time the utils were released).

I'm mostly writing cross platform apps in Java now, some are on my page, and scratching my head watching the cryptocurrency craze unfold.

P.S. Sorry to necro an old post ... just didn't want anyone to think I'm not grateful.

I too just discovered this post. It's always a nice nostalgia trip going to your site, Moose. Thanks for keeping it up!

Hey, thanks Shoe.

I removed the reviews, arcade emulation, apple ][ emulation, etc sections during the big re-design of 2014 - but these pages are still here on my drive.

The emulation stuff took a lot of time to keep up-to-date - especially between 1996 and 2006 - because so much was happening, so many new emulators, so many new games emulated, etc. I could re-instate the "removed" pages, but they take a fair amount of up-keep, and there are so many great sites that do it so much better than I ever did. e.g. good old MAME World.

On my web page, I tend to just focus on developing software and on fun / interesting side projects now. e.g. Number plate OCR'ing and DB lookup, and checking if your passwords have been in any security breaches are 2 recent side projects.

Hey Moose, no worries at all. You have good reasons for doing what you did, and in the end you have to do what's fun for you, otherwise what's the point? Besides, there's always Wayback for the emulation bits.
