Hi guys!
I just want to let you know that is live on the app store "Arcade Reference" my app dedicated to Arcade Coinop!
The app takes the data exported from Mame and from various other files (Snapshots, History, MameInfo ecc.), it groups it together and it organizes it in order to have all the information in your device as a guide or simply as a reference for reading information and tips.
As a functional choice, at the moment only the Parent set are shown. In addition, all "mechanical" machines and all the "Gambling" games (Video Poker, Blackjack etc.) have been eliminated. The result is a list of about 3600 Arcade titles from the 70s to the 2000s.
At the moment, there may be inaccuracies or missing information. Also, might be present in the db, roms related to computers, bios or other devices. I invite you to notify me if this occurs, in order to update and improve the database.
Please keep in mind that this is a preliminary version... I hope to integrate and add new features in future updates.
It's available for free for iPhone and iPad. No Android version sorry, just because I don't know Java..
Here's the link: https://itunes.apple.com/app/id1178311507
Thanks! Nicola

Thank you!
I've already had a look at ArcadeDB (super powerful!) and talk to Motoschifo! In next updates I'll use his export tool to generate the ini files for the app..

That's pretty fucking cool! Well done on a great-looking app!
Regarding Android, do you know C++? Most major programs that are cross-platform across Android and iOS are written in C++, and they use a very thin wrapper in Objective-C (iOS) or Java (Android) to pass along OS calls.
If you know C++, then Java is very easy, it's almost syntactically identical, except it's garbage-collected, so you don't need to do explicit memory management. I would suggest looking into it, as you might be surprised at just how easy it is to learn.

Thanks for your kind words!
Unfortunately I don't know C++ or Objective C.. The App is totally written in Swift, the language launched by Apple 2 years ago.
By the way, if you know someone that want to port the App for Android, I'm happy to give him all the assets of my app..
