My first game on .176 . Really digging the controls response. The stick didn't once fuck me.
PS: the girders look pleasantly purple - because HLSL isn't in the output. But at least the reddish-ness is smoothed out.

Just like in the arcade. Depend what colors the screen put out.
By the way. The shadow on the left and right. That is the scans rolling on the screen to the right. Just like on the CRT TV's screen. Very smooth.

Indeed. However, typically the blue cabinet (TKG-04 video hardware) does provide girders that don't look red, but more pinkish.
Additionally though, the red cabinet/Radar Scope conversion cabs provide a strong red by default for the girders on the screen.
Too bad the Video/Hardware Configuration switch for changing between the two video hardware configurations has been broken for quite some time now when selecting the Radar Scope conversion (TKG-02) one.

The snap on the left seems to be more like how I remember Donkey Kong at the arcades. With the floor pinkish and not reddish.

Most, likely would recall the one on the left, as it is typically found in the much more common blue cabinet version of the game.
The one on the right is from the red cabinet/Radar Scope conversion of the game. Only a couple thousand of those (originally) existed.

Some, a select few, said 'they's purple'. And most said, 'Nay, s'not!' . And those first, again said, 'Yes, they's purple!' And most said, again, said 'No, they's not!!' But, eventually, someone came forth to show true legacy...and behold! They WAS purple!
And so et came ta bae.
But current HLSL fudges that.

Something is better. For years I've had issues in post-re-write MAME with the stick registering when I didn't want it to, or not when I do, and biting it in, for example, Donkey Kong. Nothing changed on my end.
