Wow, was this a conversion kit, or just an alternate version they sold?

I know for sure it's an official release from Toaplan so it's not an amateur hack.Board is fully a Zero Wing one with some modifications in the program ROMs area and BCU-2 tiles genarator.As you can see from picture it mounts a sub-board for two 4Mbit MASK ROM containing backgrounds data instead of four 1Mbit MASK ROMs used by Zero Wing (which use less data for tiles).It not really rare, a friend of mine in Italy owns two of them.
