If it's being use on hardware (as suggested) it's eligible for MAME, we actually added the Coco3 version to the Software List, but the arcade version could be interesting too.
That would be great to see this added to MAME. I tried the demo roms for dkong remix and was pretty cool. Nice new twist on the kill screen but I will never see that unless cheats added.

If "being used on hardware" is the only real prerequisite for inclusion into official MAME, it sure would be nice to have UMK2:TE and UMK3:TE added as well. They go well beyond being simple hacks and really change a lot over the original games (bug fixes, balancing, general tweaks, etc).

Then I don't understand why Outrun Enhanced Edition isn't in MAME since not only is it FOR arcade hardware, it's the original code with all code issues resolved. It's also ON actual arcade cabinets out in the wild.
